Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, has taken steps to inform his son’s wife, Wunmi, about the pending DNA test application through alternative means. This action follows a court order granted by the Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu.
The Aloba family’s attorney, Monisola Odumosu, confirmed that the notice was affixed to Wunmi’s last known address. They anticipate her presence or representation in court on May 14, 2024. The family seeks a DNA test for Mohbad’s grandson, Liam, and has requested the court’s directive for the test to be conducted at a recognized medical facility.
Despite previous unsuccessful attempts to serve Wunmi, the family remains committed to pursuing the DNA test. Mohbad’s death in September 2023 triggered controversies, leading to investigations and arrests of individuals associated with the case.
As a former signee of Marlian Music, Mohbad’s departure from the label in February 2022 added another layer of complexity to the situation. Following his death, the Lagos State Police Command initiated a special investigation team to delve into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The subsequent exhumation of Mohbad’s body for autopsy aimed to uncover the cause of his untimely demise. Despite the legal and investigative procedures, the matter remains shrouded in speculation and intrigue, awaiting further developments and resolutions
